To make a nutritious smoothie, you should use the freshest, best quality produce you can get your hands on- even better if it’s organic! Be sure to carefully wash all the ingredients before adding them to the blender.
These smoothies are meant to be made in a high-powered blender. If you don’t have one, a high-powered food processor should do the trick- it will make a thicker, pulpier smoothie but it’s still delicious and just as nutritious!
# 1 Green Smoothie
Ingredients (makes 1)
- 1/2 banana, frozen, peeled
- 1/4 cup mango, frozen, cubed or 1 fresh mango cheek
- 1/4 avocado
- 1 cup baby spinach, washed
- 1 big leaf green kale, washed, destemmed
- 1 Tbsp Hemp seeds
- 1 cup cold water, filtered or coconut water
- 3 ice cubes
Method
Combine ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until very smooth, scraping down the sides if needed.
# 2 Cacao Smoothie
Ingredients (makes 1)
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 2 Tbsp cacaco powder
- 1/4 cup cashews, raw
- 1 Tbsp protein powder or collagen
- 1 Tbsp Hemp seeds
- 1-2 medjool dates, pitted
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 ice cubes
- 1 cup cold water, filtered
Method
Combine ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until very smooth, scraping down the sides if needed.
