Continuing our mission to provide our customers with certified organic produce of absolutely outstanding quality, Wholefoods House are very excited to announce a new range of herbs and vegetables which have been sewn, grown and picked by us.
We’re calling it House-Grown.
Anybody who has met owner Eliot Rickards knows just how passionate he is about sourcing fresh and tasty organic fruit and vegetables. What you might not know is that this is not just some far-off ideal: what Eliot likes best is getting his hands dirty.
The benefits of cultivating and selling our own organic produce are many. Naturally the produce is grown locally on a NASAA organic certified community farm in Dapto, just south of Wollongong, meaning that the food kilometres are minimal. The produce travels straight from the farm where it is picked and packed to the store shelf. This cuts out any unnecessary processing and distribution costs, both financial and environmental, meaning that you can rest assured the final product has been treated with the utmost respect and integrity throughout its life cycle from seed to plate.
The end result is unbeatable: super fresh certified organic produce of exceptional quality at a very affordable price. Plus, you know it’s been treated with T.L.C. and that’s something you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
Many of you will have seen our beautiful, generously sized bunches of House-Grown purple carrots and basil on the shelf. They were the first lines in this venture and exemplify the quality and value we intend to deliver in the future. The range is limited for now, but we’re thinking big!
