Organic produce straight from us to you Following heavy rains in the south coast region and flooding at Dapto things got a little soggy down at the farm, with the water levels rising to about a metre deep and submerging our beds. Some plants were drowned (unfortunately the purple carrots were among the casualties) but amazingly many survived the torrent. Mother Nature really is a wonder! Look out for coriander, bok choy, lettuce, shallots and leeks grown by us over the coming weeks. Gluten free, Vegetarian Put the purple carrot's tasty good looks to work! The trick to turning humble carrots into a delicious dish is in the roasting, which gives them a rich, caramelised quality, balanced by plenty of fresh salad leaves and a tart yoghurt drizzle. The sesame seed and spice blend is based on a popular Middle Eastern spice mix called za'atar: vibrant, fragrant and crunchy. For this recipe we used a mix of heirloom orange, white and purple carrots for a really stunning visual effect, but the loose everyday orange variety work just as well.
